New?

Whether you’re new to the Whitsundays, starting a fresh chapter in life, raising a family, beginning a career, or simply here on holiday—we’re so glad you’ve found us! We know it can sometimes feel tricky to meet people and make new friends in a new place. That’s why we’d love to help you connect. Here are some easy ways to get to know our church family:

  • Coffee or a meal together – If no one has invited you yet, please take the initiative! Grab a drink or share a meal with someone—it’s a relaxed way to chat, ask questions about our church, what we believe, or seek guidance.
  • Connect Groups – Small groups that meet regularly (weekly or fortnightly) for friendship, Bible study, and prayer. A perfect way to grow deeper in faith and relationships.
  • Volunteer – Jump in and serve alongside others. It’s one of the fastest ways to make friends while contributing to God’s church.
  • Church Social Fitness Club – Join us Saturday mornings for the free Airlie Beach parkrun. Walk, jog, run, or just cheer—great exercise and even better company!

No matter your background or where you’re at in your faith journey, you’re warmly welcome here. Come as you are—we can’t wait to meet you!

  • Grow closer to God through Bible discussion and prayer
  • Deepen relationships with fellow believers
  • Experience the encouragement and accountability that comes from doing life together

Children

Here at WBC, we love having children as part of our church family! You’re welcome to keep your children with you in the main Sunday Worship Service, or they can join BapKids—our fun, engaging children’s program for little ones through to Year 6—which runs at the same time as the service.

During School Terms
Our dedicated BapKids leaders are using the exciting “Simply Loved” curriculum, taking the children on an age-appropriate journey through the Bible, exploring stories from both the Old and New Testaments.

During School Holidays
We run a special holiday program and/or provide activity packs to keep the kids engaged and learning.

While we don’t currently offer a separate crèche, we always have a box of toys available for younger children who stay in the service.

Peace of Mind – Child Safety
WBC is a child-safe church. We take the protection and wellbeing of every child very seriously. All BapKids leaders are fully trained in child safety and hold a current Working with Children Blue Card.

Young Adults

Project YA-WAY (Young Adults Learning His Way) is Whitsunday Baptist Church’s vibrant young adults group (ages 18–30). We meet fortnightly on Saturday nights for a shared dinner, in-depth discussions about life and faith, and plenty of fun games and activities.Whether you’re wanting to grow deeper in your relationship with Christ, bear more spiritual fruit, or simply make new friends in a relaxed and supportive environment, everyone is warmly welcome! No matter where you’re at on your faith journey, you’ll find genuine community and encouragement here.
Come join us, we’d love to see you there!

Membership

At WBC, we love seeing people grow in their faith and become more deeply connected to our church family. After you’ve been part of our community for a while, you might feel ready to take the next step—whether that’s for a greater sense of belonging, a stronger voice in our shared life, or even serving on the Leadership Team. Membership is the way we formally recognise and welcome your commitment to WBC. Every believer in Jesus is already part of His universal church, but local membership shows your desire to journey with us specifically. It helps us maintain spiritual unity, protect our community (especially children and vulnerable people), and meet legal requirements for churches in Australia.

What are our Membership requirements?

We welcome anyone who:

  • Is a born-again believer, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation
  • Has been baptised (as an adult believer or, in traditions that practise infant baptism, with some form of adult confirmation)
  • Is committed to this local expression of the church—Whitsunday Baptist Church
  • Agrees with the statement of faith in our constitution
  • Is seeking to live a holy and godly life

How to become a Member – Three Simple Pathways

  1. Speak with our Pastor – Feel free to call the church office or send an email. Pastor Andy would love to chat with you personally.
  2. Complete an application form – Download and print the Membership Application Form and return it to us.
  3. Take your time to explore – Read through our Constitution first. It explains what we believe and how we’re governed, helping you decide if WBC is the right church home for you.
We’re excited about the possibility of welcoming you as a member! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
